How Hard Is Wakeboarding On The Body?
When you first start wakeboarding, chances are you’ll be falling off your board quite a bit. But don't worry, this is completely normal and something practically all beginners experience.
The good news is you’ll be landing on water, and as you’re just getting started, you won't be going too fast to start off with. Plus, with the right safety gear (more on that below) you’ll be fully equipped to deal with any falls.
Perhaps the most pain you’ll experience will be in your legs the following day! As you’ll be putting your legs and buttocks to good use, chances are you’ll feel it the next day. But aside from giving these muscles a great workout, you shouldn’t experience any pain.
Is Wakeboarding Safe?
Another worry people tend to have is whether wakeboarding is dangerous. After all, you’ll be standing on a board being pulled by a boat at speed.
But you’ll be glad to know that wakeboarding is a very safe sport, especially when proper safety procedures are followed. This starts with wearing the appropriate safety equipment, such as a well-fitted wakeboard impact vest and a helmet, which will significantly reduce the risk of injury.
Additionally, if you’re a beginner then you should always receive proper instruction from a certified instructor to learn both the fundamentals of wakeboarding and the necessary safety protocols.
Additionally, while you’re out on the water, it’s essential to be aware of your surroundings and behave responsibly, such as avoiding crowded areas and keeping a safe distance from other boats and boarders.
